latest news from the gift |
Greetings everyone!! It's been a while since the last update. So, what better way to spend a sick day at home?? Okay, recent news: Sonya Dickey has joined the band as back up vocalist and splitting keyboard duty with Julie. She has definetly added something special to our sound. It was really good timing on God's part to bring her into the band, of course, His timing is always perfect. Chad Collins has returned to the band, also. The founder and original drummer, Chad took a sabatical for over a year and a half. We certainly appreciate the time the other drummers gave to us, but we believe this is the line up God wants us to have. We are back to our signature sound of in-your-face, non-subtle, no appologies, rock and roll for God. We had another "Breakout" service at the prison in St. Jo, on the 14th. About 45-50 guys came this time. It seems that word is spreading about the service and the recovery program that has going each Sunday. A few more guys show up each time. It is obvious that God is working there. The services are so special, because of the freedom these men feel to worship God in the place they are at. There is a sharing time at the end when the men can tell whats been happening in their spiritual lives or how Celebrate Recovery has been helping them. The next Breakout will be December 12th. Hope to see you there......... just kidding ;-) We are possibly starting a new relationship with the Innercity River Church, in Kansas City around 24th and Denver. It's a church that has been started by some of Gos's Wheels Motorcycle Club. We have done ministry with them various times in the past and are going to be helping them out by leading some Sunday afternoon worship services for them. The first one will be on the 29th of November at 3 pm. I'm sure they wouldn't mind if there were visitors. That's about it for now. God bless you all and we hope to see you out there somewhere, sometime. Thanks for your prayers and hanging in there with us. |
